They died today...
The whole thing would be funny if it weren't so damn sad, as the classic would say.
All last week, the media was racing to see who would publish the crazy growing numbers first. Portals were literally vying for fortune tellers and experts who were waving mathematical models and logarithmic curves.
Last Wednesday, the magic threshold of two thousand infected people fell, and on Thursday, three thousand. (Not sick people, but mostly people without any symptoms who have been found to have antibodies to the Covid-19 virus.)
Other prophecies spoke of the next week and eight thousand positives a day, and then an uncontrolled bursting of the levees and flooding of all hospitals with Covid patients.
Armageddon – hallelujah!
And the government immediately rushed to listen to the voice of the people and made children in schools wear masks (we may see the effectiveness in a few weeks...). This was followed by yesterday's sudden (but brilliantly prepared) replacement of the minister with Colonel Kovidobijce.
Armageddon – hallelujah!
But over the weekend, the numbers started to drop (yes, there is less testing over the weekend, but still the increase was nowhere near as much as predicted).
And the media reports? Not a word about a decline, on the contrary, the media was boasting that we were experiencing "the biggest weekend increases".
And after the weekend, when there was still no increase and nothing to be shocked about? So yesterday came the first dead doctor - imagine, a 68-year-old man died.
And today? I open the websites and on the first pages there are at least 10 deaths from yesterday. It's not exactly a record, but it serves the purpose perfectly.
To put this into context – over 80,000 people have died in the Czech Republic since the beginning of the year, and only 522 of them had the Covid-19 virus in their bodies…
And what viruses did the other deceased have in their bodies? But, no one is addressing that – no one has ever addressed it.
When you had a cold, you just stayed home for a week, and when you were really sick, you went to the doctor. And do you remember how the doctor tested you to see which of the hundreds of viruses that are flying around and cause common respiratory illnesses you had? Of course not – why, when the treatment is the same. I mean, none!
I am currently reading an excellent book about the protectorate, "Two Against the Empire," and you will never guess what was one of the most effective means of breaking the Czechs. Not the executions themselves, but the hundreds and thousands of names of the executed, which the Germans constantly broadcast on the radio, announced by street announcers, and which were on the front pages of newspapers. That was the main force - fear - that broke the Czechs.
But that's what the Germans did to us during the war - but now we're doing it to ourselves and our Czech media is doing it - we're shooting ourselves in the foot.
We spend about 30 million on tests every day - almost two billion wasted crowns since the beginning of the year, which could have helped elsewhere.
The common model that has worked for centuries, where the sick are treated, has suddenly stopped being used and the population is artificially searched for only positive people without symptoms through tests. When you think about it, it's completely crazy and turned on its head!
We're closing universities, but we're leaving football for the people.
Let's rather treat the sick who need it, as always, and try to protect those at risk if they are unable to do so themselves. And finally, for the saved funds and part of the 500 billion Let's strengthen hospital beds, doctors and nurses. Above all, let's not populistally send five worthless masks and a non-functional Chinese respirator without a certificate (at a cost of another 300 million).
And for goodness sake – let the others live!!!
This time, this appeal is directed mainly at the media, which has largely created all of this. It is the media that influences people, and they in turn put pressure on politicians, who then make purely populist decisions.
I just don't really know if it's just the media's intention to get higher readership, or someone's targeted intention.
If we do it ourselves, we are truly a nation of fools, and if it is done behind the scenes by someone who is interested in more and more testing, the sale of medical supplies, disinfection, and fear, in which they govern themselves perfectly and quietly enforce their own laws - then we are fools in the extreme because we elected them.
Hundreds of millions of dollars daily They're going to throw the whole world away just to find out if anyone has antibodies to one of the many viruses that are raging around. One day, when our children learn about this, they'll think that the whole world really went completely crazy.
But the funniest thing is that the people I talk to aren't afraid of Covid at all - they're afraid "that it won't get out of hand", "that the state won't close something again", "that they won't lose their jobs", "that the state will finally leave them alone!"
Yes – I am not a scientist, doctor or mathematician and maybe that is a good thing. I watch daily what these renowned experts say and how they contradict each other. For every study there are three that refute it and you can interpret each graph in completely different ways – depending on how it fits into your theory of worldview and the covid problem.
Their opinions often have one thing in common – the so-called tunnel vision of scientists. That is, a strict focus only on their own discipline, but often without a broader perspective.
I don't know the truth myself, but I'm bragging JUST erudition of scientists? Not asking questions and leaving it up to them?
Renowned scholars have long thought that the Earth is flat, then that everything revolves around it, in the Middle Ages doctors made ointments from mercury, injected them intravenously and gave the sick laxatives and emetics or crocodile dung. Even in the 20th century, respected professors routinely treated patients with arsenic and heroin, and smoking was the best thing for asthma. Less than forty years ago, doctors routinely performed thousands of crazy barbaric lobotomies. And as recently as 2009, Colonel Prymula, before wearing masks even warned...
By the way, last year when you had a cold, did you really need to know which of the endless number of viruses you actually had and what its exact name was?
People and media, please don't be stupid!
Fear and stress do not help anything - on the contrary, both demonstrably worsen the course of any disease. I am not afraid of Covid (although I understand that it can be dangerous for some and they should protect themselves), I am only afraid of the stupid behavior of governments and people who are destroying the world in which we have lived until now.
