Where have journalists and critical thinking gone?

I can't help but be amazed at what's happening to journalism in our country.

As an artist, I took the liberty of writing on Facebook that I'm not afraid of Covid and putting together a few numbers and dates. Nothing else!

I didn't play the role of a prophet, a doctor, or a specialist in a white coat - I didn't trivialize the disease, I didn't do any fake news, I didn't dishonor or spit on healthcare professionals (whom I really respect and know are having a hard time) - I simply wrote my perspective on the matter, compared the presented data, and wrote to people to pay attention to their health.

I just wrote my opinion that I'm not afraid!

And it turns out that this view happens to be shared by tens of thousands of people in our country, including many doctors, epidemiologists, and virologists who wrote to me.
And it also turned out that it was able to calm thousands of people and give them some hope.

And the server Aktuálně quickly rushes in and shoots an unfair video full of manipulations, stupid shortcuts and mockery (https://zpravy.aktualne.cz/domaci/koronavirovy-status-uklidnil-desetitisice-cechu-je-plny-mani/r~349394f4139f11ebaabd0cc47ab5f122), in which they are just trying to discredit me and subliminally associate me with fake news and nonsense about Bill Gates.
First, they need to show the scientific team on which their opinions are based (the long name of an institution full of mathematicians, in the first minute of the video), even if in the end they don't actually disprove anything at all, and then, of course, they need to throw off their opponent.
It would be stupid to write, for example, "director and writer MgA. Jan Tománek - author of the most successful Czech animated films in terms of audience, The Goat's Tale, for which he won a number of foreign awards. His films on YouTube in all language versions have been seen by over 30 million people around the world, author of several books and member of Mensa of the Czech Republic". No way - we'd rather just write "user Jan Tománek" that way it's easier to spread manure...

Is it just their own initiative, journalistic self-censorship before those in power, an order?
I have no idea and it doesn't really matter, but it's pretty monstrous and resembles totalitarianism.

This morning, even though I vowed not to watch the media anymore, I watched a new video interview with Professor Flegre – coincidentally on the same Aktuálně (https://video.aktualne.cz/dvtv/vse-zametali-pod-koberec-zivot-se-zastavi-vubec-se-to-nemuse/r~a857cc2e13d711eba7deac1f6b220ee8/ )

And Professor Flegr is here, not like me, a layman, but as EXPERT and SCIENTIST he says quite seriously (in the 19th minute) that they will be here From December to March, thousands of people die DAILY.

So, according to my completely layman's calculations, that's 4 months x 30 days x 1,000 (his minimum number, in December he even talked about 2,000 per day) people per day - and that equals 120,000 people for me - it would truly be a world record.

And again the context - New York, which I wrote about, where it "didn't work out badly" - 19,000 people died from Covid (i.e. almost an order of magnitude lower). At the same time, New York has 8 million inhabitants in a small area, with poor state healthcare and other problems that I mentioned.

I think that with this statement, Professor Flegr committed perhaps the first out in the history of world epidemiology - because the minimum number of 120,000 deaths he predicted would be even higher than the mortality rate of the virus (in our country it is around 0.9%), even if EVERY CZECH were to get infected, which certainly won't happen - and even then we would hardly reach 90,000 deaths. Which, in my completely layman's opinion, won't happen either.
Regardless of the fact that it turns out that 20%-50% people may be completely immune to covid.

And this is being released quite seriously in the same medium with a wide reach, by a respected scientist – which I think, due to his position, is already a real case for a lawsuit for alarmist news!

And I ask - where has your journalistic work gone? Verifying data and asking questions? Questioning? I ask you, gentlemen, editors-in-chief of Aktuálně Josef Pazderko and Martina Krepindl, the author of the report about me.

That's why I'm not afraid, and actually, thanks – it's also your journalistic "work." Because this data really can't be trusted!

But I'm afraid of how the media is failing – including (or especially) yours.
I blame you for scaring people completely without context or critical thinking, and out of fear for their lives, they fill hospitals over trivial matters and take up space for people who really objectively need help.

I wish everyone else a lot of strength, peace and health.
And protect yourself and your body, so that we can relieve doctors and hospitals a little, and go for a walk in the forest to strengthen your immunity.
