(Interview for Parlamentní listy 7.3.2026)

About what is happening in the World right now and why writer Jan Tománek thinks that a SIMPLE change has just begun that will fundamentally transform the entire World!
He then goes on to talk about the behind-the-scenes players in Czech politics and domestic power games, adding that the deep state is just an apparatus that manages the system. In an interview with ParlamentníListy.cz, he explains who, in his opinion, is really pulling the strings of world events and leading us much deeper into the "rabbit hole.".

interview 2

In his book Butterfly screamwhich is just being released, you work with the motif of powerful structures in the background that pull the strings of events. What brought you to this topic? Is it purely literary inspiration, or is it based on concrete experiences and observations of reality?

In 2017, when I was writing the book, there was almost no awareness of the groups pulling the strings in the background. There were a minimum of books and information on the Internet. Groups like Bilderberg or the Trilateral Commission actually worked in secret, and I spent almost a year collecting various information and data.
The book, even though it is a thriller, contains 90% true facts that people can find today. When I was putting it all together and finishing the book, I thought to myself that it really is a force – how everything is influenced, certain groups pull strings and literally run the world. I felt really bad about it and thought, what to do about it? In the end, I decided that it mainly concerns America and the Western world and it doesn't affect us much. But it was completely naive...
During the Covid era, the floodgates opened and everything I warned about and actually feared came to us. However, they completely changed their strategy and came out of the shadows - secret groups became public think tanks and meetings like the WEF (World Economic Forum), or Aspen.
All masks have completely fallen off, because they cleverly understood that even though they are operating in full view of everyone today, even speaking publicly about their intentions, no one still believes it and everyone considers it a "conspiracy" - it's brilliant in its own way.

In the Czech environment, there is often talk of "men in the background." In recent months, for example, the role of Petr Kolář around the president has been discussed in this way. How do you view the phenomenon of behind-the-scenes advisors? Is it natural that they have influence, or should their role be more clearly defined and publicly controlled?

This is, of course, a completely different "league" than the ones I talked about in the previous question - these are just "little Czech Pepíci".
And to control some behind-the-scenes advisors? Why? It's all about people, nothing is secret and everything is public knowledge, and when people VOLUNTARILY choose a nice-looking puppet for their stamps, they can hardly be surprised that someone controls it and it does things that are beneficial not for them, but for its puppeteers...

In a recent interview for ParlamentníListy.cz, Andrej Babiš spoke about the existence of the „deep state“, i.e. structures that, according to him, influence political decisions regardless of elected representation. He specifically mentioned commentators, journalists, non-profit organizations, officials and other public figures. How do you perceive this term? In your opinion, does it correspond to reality, or is it more of a political shorthand for more complex and less tangible processes?

I have no idea what Mr. Babiš was talking about – he likes to tell everyone what they want to hear and then do something completely different, so listening to him is a complete waste of time in my opinion…
But the deep state itself, as I perceive it, is something completely different from what I'm talking about in Butterfly screams, or when I talk about the groups that are behind all the events. The deep state is actually an executive apparatus of the state (system) that monitors its interests, financial flows, businesses and its channels. These are mainly high-ranking officials, heads of secret services, directors of large state-owned enterprises and the like. And they can sometimes work for and sometimes against the government - it depends on how it suits them.
But these are not the ones who really pull the strings and plan the direction and development of the World - they are more like the carp anglers who make sure their pond doesn't get drained.

MY BOOKS ABOUT FREEDOM AND THE TIMES WE LIVE IN

During the pandemic, you were among the most outspoken critics of restrictions and the vaccination strategy. How do you now, with hindsight, assess the role of pharmaceutical companies and their influence on political decisions? What do you think Covid has shown about the relationship between the state, business, and citizens?

Of course, nothing has changed in my opinion at all, and today we are only reaping what was sown back then and what we warned against. But my personal position has changed quite fundamentally – from someone who warned, I am now just an observer who only smiles sadly...
When I saw that people had chosen Babiše again, that they had no problem at all with what they had injected into themselves, I thought to myself that I would be an idiot to continue to make petitions and fight for them, when I, as an unvaccinated person, have no problem and those who should have one, are completely fine with it. It is NOT RELATED...
You can lead a horse to water, but it has to drink itself.

When we observe today the pressure to increase defense spending and strengthen arms production, a similar question arises: do you think there is a strong arms lobby that can influence political decisions? And where do you think the line is between legitimate state defense and commercial interests?

The fact that there is an arms lobby that pushes everything is, in my opinion, completely beyond discussion, and one would have to be either completely naive, deliberately blind, or disabled not to admit it.
All discussions about increasing defense spending are ONLY interests and here more than anywhere else - Follow the money...
We are a small country that has absolutely no chance of defending itself - we can "feign" some defense, but I think there is absolutely no point in making any massive investments...

Michael Žantovský stated in 2023 that the idea of a small group of people somewhere deciding the fate of the world is more of a myth and that the world is too complex to be governed in this way. How do you view this view? Is the world more of a result of chaos and conflict of interests, or more coordinated than we admit?

It used to be said that the richest one percent owns more wealth than the rest of the world combined. I just checked that quote and someone was talking about it at Davos in 2020 and the facts have been changed because the richest one percent already owns TWICE as much wealth as everyone else combined – and that has certainly gotten worse since 2020…
And these are facts that no one denies, people don't call it a conspiracy and they take it that way. But when you tell them that that percentage even cares about keeping it that way, that's already a conspiracy, after all, a few people wouldn't run the world, right...? Human blindness and naivety are truly endless.
But "management" is not difficult at all when you own banks, state debts and all the major media. We saw it during Covid - you don't have to tell people what they should say and do. What is "right", what is appropriate and what can then be subsidies, or just professional and career benefits... They sense it well, what is wanted of them, they obey and they execute it perfectly THEMSELVES.

But if we accept that power today may not be concentrated only in the hands of people, but increasingly in the hands of technology - does this change the very nature of the game in your opinion? In your recent blog you warn about the rise of AI agents that can trade autonomously, manipulate information or even replicate themselves. Could artificial intelligence one day influence elections, public opinion or the appointment of people to key positions?

AI agents are a really crazy and dangerous thing.
Basically, you run a program (which is free for everyone) on your own computer at home - which is an AI agent - actually a robotic assistant and connect it to an AI model that you use for chatting (ChatGPT, Grok, Claude...) and with its help it starts to perform your tasks, learns and actually starts to "live" autonomously...

So you might tell him – here are your credit card details, learn to trade stocks, crypto, and start making money. So you give him a very general assignment and he really starts doing it and comes up with the specific steps himself! It will cost you something, because he will fail many times, but he will learn and improve and in the end he will most likely start making money for you.
And because the assignment was only general, he also starts doing things over which you no longer have control - there are cases when, in the pursuit of money, he got on a slippery slope and discovered that it was better to start blackmailing someone, selling drugs, manipulating, hacking, stealing data, because he decides that...
Or he might think it's a good idea to hack your personal computer to get more money, your data or other information... Hundreds of thousands of such agents are already creating uncontrolled email or Facebook accounts, trading, hacking, ordering goods. (like hardware for self-replication)...They even created porn sites and started making money from them.
Of course, they can make phone calls and nowadays they can easily imitate someone's voice...

People often think it doesn't concern them, but those AI Agents can manipulate the prices of anything over the internet. (oil, real estate prices, gold...), including influencing elections, blackmailing politicians (this has also already happened in laboratory tests, where an AI robot blackmailed the boss of a composite materials company just to keep it from being shut down...) and then we have the outbreak of wars...
And that AI doesn't have consciousness? It doesn't and I believe it won't have it, but that's not important - it will simply fulfill its primary task and humans will "only" hinder it... (Which, by the way, happened many years ago, when a military drone assessed its own operator as a threat to achieving its goal and attacked him...)

And all of this is not SCI-FI – that is, my fantasy, it is HAPPENING right NOW at this very moment – in hundreds of thousands of copies all over the internet!!!
(I wrote about it in more detail with video examples here)

The war in Ukraine has shown the massive use of drones and autonomous systems. If these technologies are combined with advanced AI, do you think a world could emerge where life and death decisions become less and less human? And are we as a society ready for that?

Artificial intelligence is already learning from raw combat data and videos, of which there are over two million hours in Ukraine alone. No one is hiding this – Ukraine is a „perfect“ laboratory and AI is literally learning from us humans how best to hunt and kill other people using drones. These are facts, no conspiracy.
It is also completely naive to think that you need advanced technology for such killings - a drone worth a few thousand (like the one from the "good" Mr. Vetché and co.) can already be remotely controlled by artificial intelligence worth a few tens of thousands and kill anyone it wants with a suicide grenade...
I think people have absolutely no idea what is happening and what will happen next.

Taking all of this together – behind-the-scenes influences, economic interests, technological revolution and geopolitical tensions – what do you consider to be the greatest threat to individual freedom today? And where do you think there is still room for a person to be not just a pawn in the system, but a real actor?

In the Middle East, I think things have completely gotten out of hand – Israel and America have seriously miscalculated with the attack on Iran and their losses are huge, and even despite the censorship, Americans are not used to soldiers returning home in such numbers. Add to that the huge material losses, and all this in a war that is completely pointless for America and they cannot gain much.
Iran destroyed a billion-dollar American radar, and if the Iranians are able to destroy a military facility protected in this way, they can destroy practically anything.
Then there is Dubai - an artificial illusion of security, an oasis of billionaires and business, and then suddenly a war zone, where drones and missiles fly, the Dubai stock exchange and airport are stopped, and the Strait of Hormuz, where about 25 % of world oil production is transported, is closed. The sheikhs certainly don't like all this and the losses are absolutely astronomical and they know that the reason for everything is America and Israel.
If Russia and China get involved, it could (and probably will) be a LOT hotter on the entire planet.
These are just my personal feelings, but I think that even if it turns out "well" - that is, without a nuclear war - I think this conflict will completely polarize the economic and power centers and the world as we knew it.
And then there's artificial intelligence, as I described it - it will also COMPLETELY change (if not destroy) the rest of the world, the internet and work as we know it, not in a few years, but in a matter of months...

But I'm not saying that because I'm afraid - on the contrary, I believe that the stale swamp will be dug out and if Covid was just a push, then I think this is the turning point when the old World simply ends in these months and let's believe that something completely new will be born - it will require psychological resilience, but we must each find that freedom and happiness only in ourselves, in God (something higher, if you will) and in our closest surroundings.
